So what is the weight limit for this bed? Amazon web site says 350 lbs. Sticker prominently displayed on the bed itself says 200 lbs. Since the wood looked quite clear and the assembly was mortise and tenon, I would guess something more than 200 lbs. Some transparency in the description would have been helpful. I would happily have given the item five stars absent the ambiguity about weight limit. The shipping box stated the item was made in Vietnam--a plus for me that it wasn't made in China. A big dent in the box was an initial concern, but unpacking the parts revealed adequate padding so that everything was totally unblemished. It looked to me like nearly as much engineering went into the shipping box as the bed itself! The same was true of another bed that was obviously the same but came from a different retailer who disappeared completely from Amazon's web site before I even received the shipment! The eight vertical parts of each of the headboard and footboard look like they would be tricky to assemble but are not. The milling of the parts was very precise, and the fit was excellent. The instructions were clear and unambiguous. It all went together quickly and easily.Screws are included for screwing the slats to the ledges on the rails. I have never before seen a bed whose bed slats were screwed to the rails, so I left mine free. This strikes me as belt and suspenders. Why not just put a mattress on top to hold down the slats?I have a minor beef about the stickers on the bed, three pretty good sized ones and a bunch of small ones to identify the various parts. The glue was unnecessarily sticky. Something else could have been used that would not have been such a pain to remove. It really didn't need to stay on until the end of time!
