This bed is everything I expected & even prettier than I imagined. the grey looks lighter in person than did in pictures online. Which is a plus in my book, I was worried it'd be too dark.It took me (35 yo pregnant f), my sister (38 yo f), & my nephew (17 yo m) 5 hours to put this together. My sister is a pro at building furniture with instructions & I'm pretty good. Nephew was there for muscle & to help.Note, 2 of the 3 boxes were 89lbs, & another was 40-ish. I had a difficult time bringing them inside my apartment, but I'm 6.5 months pregnant. The majority of building you just need an allen wrench, which is included. Now, we also had 2 additional allen wrenches we had to "speed up" the building process... still took 5 hours, which does not include 30 minute break for lunch. You will need a drill for connecting the wood slats once the frame is in place. And also for the brackets on the trundle. Also, the trundle should only be pulled out from the bottom, the top of the frame is the only thing on this whole bed that is not very sturdy. I am actually planning to install some drawer handles at the base of the trundle so that people pull from the handles & are not tempted to pull from the top of the frame & risk breaking it.Part of the delay in the building process was 2 parts being mislabeled...took us at least an hour, after we moved on to build other sections to figure out why pieces weren't lining up, they were labeled wrong. This was parts A & B. Which is 2 of the posts of the full size/ bottom bunk. As soon as we encountered the issue, I tried calling customer service, could not get through. So I emailed them right away, photos included. Anyway, after building the top bunk separately, we revisited the bottom, really brainstorming, we figured that the pieces were mislabeled (not something we expected), anyway, after we swapped those 2 posts the rest was fairly straightforward.I personally found the stairs to be the most difficult to put together. we had put a few pieces together (difficult to see from instructions) & had to take apart & turn those pieces. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying after 4 hours of putting it together. After it was together it's obviously beautiful. I'm very pleased with the purchase. We put this together on a Saturday. Busy weekend, didn't think about letting Customer Service know that we figured it out (a bit mentally braindead after 5 hours of building). Customer Service sent me a response on Monday saying how sorry they were about the parts being wrong (they didn't yet know that it was because they were mislabeled), they shipped out a whole new box with those parts, didn't even have to send them my address, nothing. I was & still am thoroughly impressed.I did let them know that we figured everything out, & I'll be reaching out to them to return these pieces. I just think it's worth noting, if you're skeptical to buy a bed on Amazon, as I was, no need, phenomenal Customer Service! So many areas of chipped paint, bubbled looking paint, rough wood, not fully painted, dents and dings, just not happy at all. Unfortunatly my hubs started putting it together before I had a chance to inspect it. Horrible quality, no consistency at all. Took my hubs 4 hrs to put together with my help at times but he is handy. Exact # of screws so don’t lose any. Looks nice from far away but upclose sooo many imperfections everywhere.I'm very happy with this bunk bed! My dad wasn't able to come over and help assemble as planned so my 8 and 4 year old kids helped. It certainly would have been easier with another adult! But I was able to assemble it essentially on my own in 5 hours. That's a long time but it's a big bunk bed and I did it alone. The paint looks good and the slats smell like wood, no strong paint smell on ours. Two pieces were mislabeled so I had to backtrack and swap those before stacking the beds but it wasn't too hard to do. I'll go back soon and check that all my screws are tight because it looks wobbly when my daughter goes up the stairs. It's an impressive size for the price, too. This arrived in three separate packages. Overall it is a good bed, purchased for my 9 year old son. Assembly was not difficult, just time consuming. The stairs were a little tricky though. Only issue was one of the main side rails did not have the holes drilled in it for the screws, they were drilled into the other side rail. I went over and over it to make sure I wasn't putting it together wrong, but the lettered parts were where they were supposed to be, and ultimately decided it was a product defect. We still drilled screws in where they were supposed to be so in the end it wasn't a huge deal. For the price point I am satisfied with it.I love it!! It was easy to assemble but of course it took me all night because I didn’t have an extra hand to hold and pass things to me.. I love the 3 bed option and of course it’s really 4 beds because of the full bottom bunk bed.The bed was really easy to put together and my kids love it. The extra storage with the step book shelves is great. The steps are pretty steep but my daughter got used to it right away. Very happy with the bed and love the stairs instead of a ladder!Me encanto como quedo es más sólida de lo que pareceThis is so sturdy! We were very surprised and didn’t know what to expect ordering a bunk bed from amazon but this one has to be the best one. Soooo happy we bought it! Worth every penny. If you’re on the fence, buy it and you won’t regret it!
